Assessment Task No 3: Group website and portfolio

Marked out of 100

Weighting: 50% of final mark

Description: Production of group website

Format:Students will work in allocated groups to produce an online publication. Each student must:

  • Produce at least three substantial pieces of journalism (at least one of which must include audio-visual elements)
  • Produce at least three original photographs
  • Contribute to the editing and development of the site
  • Complete a peer assessment report on other members of their group

Assessment Criteria: The final website will demonstrate:

  • an ability to follow appropriate conventions of
    journalistic storytelling
  • an ability to conceptualise and develop an editorial project
  • an ability to produce targeted journalism appropriate to
    a defined audience

The peer assessment reports will demonstrate:

An ability to work as part of a team

Due date: Final features due by Week 14 but students must have substantial drafts ready for class workshopping in weeks 12 and 13
